5 Strange Things Your Teeth Are Trying to Tell You

Posted on 3/25/2016 by Fady Ebid
A man suffering from sharp teeth pain.If your mouth could talk, what would it say? Chances are good that your mouth has already tried to tell you something, as when a problem arises, it often exhibits symptoms as a cry for help. Be on the lookout for these strange things that your teeth are trying to tell you.

A Sharp Pain in Your Tooth

If you bite down and have a sudden, sharp pain, your teeth are probably trying to tell you that you have a cavity or signs of tooth decay.

If you only experience the pain once in a while and it travels, it might not be a big deal, but consistent pain should warrant a trip to the dentist.

Throbbing Tooth Pain

If you experience a throbbing pain in your teeth for a day or so, it is probably nothing to worry about. On the other hand, if a week has gone by and you haven't seen any change, this could be the sign of clenching, grinding, or even an abscessed tooth.

Loose Permanent Teeth

If your teeth feel loose, you've got a big problem. This is usually the result of gum disease, which can result in bone loss around the jaw and teeth.

Bleeding Gums

Gums that bleed when you brush or floss are not normal, so if you experience them for a week or more, you should consider seeing your dentist. This could be the sign of gum disease.

Mouth Sores

Ulcer-like sores in the mouth could be caused by a variety of factors. Eating too much citrus could cause them, as could eating foods that are especially hot. If the sores don't go away, they could also be the sign of a bigger problem like a vitamin deficiency.
